Ribes and Oemleria branches laid out on a workbench, grower and designer in conversation

Begin a woodland dialogue

Whether this is your first inquiry or your fifth season with Woody Shoots, every conversation starts the same way — with your date, your vision, and an honest look at what the woodland can offer.

Each inquiry is read personally by Diane and answered according to current woodland availability and harvest rhythm. This is not an automated system. It is a conversation.

If you are new to woodland sourcing, simply share the kind of work you love to create. Diane will take it from there.

What to Share

The more Diane understands about your project, the more precisely she can read the woodland on your behalf. Useful details to include:

Your studio name and website or Instagram. Your design date and preferred pickup window. The palette direction and mood you are working toward — references, color notes, or a simple description all work equally well. Any materials you are particularly drawn to, and anything you would prefer to avoid.

For weddings, installations, and larger events, reaching out four to eight weeks in advance gives the woodland the most time to align with your dates and material direction. For smaller projects and editorial work, reach out once dates and general scope begin taking shape.

There are no wrong answers here. Every seasonal conversation begins with curiosity, not certainty.

Practical Details

Location. Woody Shoots is based in the Arlington–Stanwood corridor of Washington State. All orders are currently pickup only — this keeps stems as fresh and unhandled as possible, preserving the natural posture and conditioning quality that make woodland materials worth sourcing.

Timing. Availability shifts with weather, temperature, emergence, and responsible harvest scale. Because the woodland sets the schedule rather than a fixed inventory, earlier inquiries allow more room for genuine collaboration. If a requested material is unavailable, Diane will suggest thoughtful alternatives whenever the season allows.

Response. Every inquiry is read personally. Replies typically arrive within two to three business days, though response times may extend slightly during active harvest periods.

Before You Reach Out

The Woodland Species Atlas offers seasonal notes, harvest rhythm, and material behavior for every species in the Woody Shoots palette — a useful reference before beginning a conversation. The Seasonal Botanicals page maps current availability across the full year.

Current material observations and seasonal woodland notes are also shared on Instagram — a quiet, real-time window into what the woodland is offering right now.

Woody Shoots follows the woodland through autumn, winter, and early spring —
offering branch-led botanical materials shaped by season, structure, and place.
The woodland is available to those who ask before the window closes.
